European Senate of Economy
Meeting At
Continental AG

Continental AG

European Senate of Economy and Technology was invited to the headquarter of Continental AG in Frankfurt.

Senior Vice-President Dr. Hans-Jörg Feigel welcomed us to the corporate headquarters and introduced us to Continental AG as a corporation that, with almost 200,000 employees, is one of the largest in the world.

The Senate’s energy and mobility experts met and talked about the key topics of 2023 – the future of mobility and healthcare from a global perspective.

In his keynote speech, Thomas Kleefuß once again listed important points from the energy sector and referred to our position paper from 2022, which we presented on the occasion of the EU Council Presidency in Prague.

Prof. Dr. Halit Ünver spoke in his presentation about the challenges of digital transformation in mobility, healthcare, and logistics. This was followed by a lively panel discussion with Kai Schumacher, who as a political advisor has already advised many leading and prominent politicians in Germany and made us aware of the sometimes prevailing discrepancy between economic and political understanding.

Both presentations were very interesting for us for our work in EUTECH and European Senate.

The conclusions of these fruitful online and offline meetings are the basis for the white papers and position papers that the European Senate discusses with political and economic decision-makers on its delegation trips to Sweden and Spain.

The premise here is that the key recommendations must serve the common good and thus benefit as many people as possible!

Thanks to all Senators and guests for the passionate discussion!
